MEMBERSHIP
The local church is at the heart of God’s plan to save sinners through the gospel of his son, Jesus Christ. Church membership serves a greater purpose than simply attending a worship service — it is a covenant to live according to how the Bible instructs believers to care for one another. Our Family Commitment sums it up this way: "This covenant is a promise to watch over one another in love as Christ commands for the purpose of discipleship and mutual growth."
Throughout the New Testament, membership in a local church is seen as a normal expectation for followers of Jesus. In formally joining Grace Auburn, members have committed to live out the gospel in community; affirming each other's faith in Jesus, holding accountable the discipleship of its believers, and laboring alongside one other in the spread of the gospel message.
